The space at the back of the knees is called the popliteal fossa - it is a compact nouns containing muscles, ligaments nerves, blood vessels and is surrounded by bones.
There are are a little conditions affecting this area that can present rise to pain. Persistent discomfort should indicate a trip to the docs for further investigation by possibly a scan - to identify the problem.
My 11 year old get the same problem and she is unbelievably fit, does lots of different sports. Things just tighten up some times when youve done too much. Wouldnt verbs about it.
It is call bakers strain. My ma used to get it, it is a short time ago a stretching of your muscles.
